Meditation
What is Meditation?
Meditation is just to be, not doing anything no action, no thought, no emotion. You just are and it is a sheer delight. From where does this delight come when you are not doing anything? It comes from nowhere, or it comes from everywhere. It is uncaused, because existence is made of the stuff called joy.
Meditation is one of the most extraordinary things, and if you do not know what it is you are like the blind man in a world of bright colour, shadows and moving light. It is not an intellectual affair, but when the heart enters into the mind, In this state there is complete peace not contentment which has come about through gratification but a peace that has order, beauty and intensity. This meditation cannot be learned from another. You must begin without knowing anything about it, and move from innocence to innocence.
The first thing to know is what it isn’t. It isn’t magic, and it isn’t a belief or a religion. It is simply a technology – a set of simple techniques that use what you have (your mind, senses, and body) to create a communication between you and your mind, and between your mind and your body.
Meditation is a time to be with yourself. Meditation is a time to connect with your breath, a time to be present to the life force in your body, a time to re-establish your own rhythm, a time to talk to your higher self, a time to be in love with your unique life. Meditation is between you and yourself only.Just like a daily shower cleans your body, a daily meditation cleans your mind, to help you focus your energy, avoid mistakes, stay healthy, and become more kind and prayerful. It helps you clear your subconscious, and to stay fully present. You can quickly and comfortably process all sorts of feelings and thoughts, and easily rejuvenate and relax yourself so you can handle stress and create rapport with those around you.
Meditation is the art of being aware. Most eastern philosophies believe that due to the pressures of modern life we have too much brain activity and energy in the upper body. There has never been a more restless world and never a more urgent need to relax.
Meditation brings us back to wholeness so that we witness life instead of responding to everything in an emotional way. All of us have deep peace inside ourselves but often we can’t hear it because the mind is making too much noise and ego gets in the way. India is the perfect place to meditate due to the slower pace of life here and the long tradition in this truly life enhancing practice.
